The Rock Climbing Instructor award is about supervising safe and enjoyable climbing and abseiling sessions on single-pitch crags and in climbing walls. The Rock Climbing Instructor award has been designed to prove competence in the supervision of safe and effective climbing sessions.
Our Rock Climbing Instructor Training and Assessment courses are based in the Hope Valley and we use Awesome Walls climbing centre in Sheffield for part of the course.
Rock Climbing Instructor Training (3 days total)
The Rock Climbing Instructor Training course is for experienced rock climbers who want to learn the skills necessary to introduce people to rock or indoor climbing. The course is appropriate for instructors at outdoor centres, parents who might want to take children out climbing on the crags and club volunteers etc. The course equips you with the technical skills, knowledge of equipment, awareness of all aspects of managing safety and decision-making needed to work as a rock climbing instructor. This course is delivered on a 1:4 ratio.
